Not up for golf? Shopping is a great alternative in Rancho Mirage, California
Who doesn't like to shop while they are on vacation? If you are getting ready to head in to Rancho Mirage, CA for a week of rest and relaxation or to scope it out for potential relocation, one of the things that you’re going to want to check out is the shopping. While some people like to do their Rancho Mirage shopping in the smaller shops in the downtown area and in the artsy district, many people really enjoy the River Mall.
The River Mall at Rancho Mirage is an open-air mall, and it is absolutely gorgeous. It features beautiful architecture and landscaping, much of which involves pools of gently flowing water. The mall is relatively small, but it offers a wide variety of boutiques and chain shops, including Bath and Body Works, Diane’s Beachwear, and Forever 21.
More than just shopping, though, the River Mall also offers lots of places to eat. If you’re in the mood for an al fresco meal on a warm winter evening in Rancho Mirage, then the mall is the place to be. There is a P.F. Chang’s, a Fleming's steakhouse, Babes barbecue and the Yard House brewery restaurant, and more right at the mall, and most of these restaurants have outdoor seating that is often filled up during the cooler winter months.
The mall also plays host to lots of entertainment. There is a movie theater there, but you can also catch free shows and talks in the mall’s amphitheater. Oftentimes, local singers and songwriters will perform at the mall, and these performances are free of charge to the mall’s guests. So if you’re ever wondering what to do on a lazy-seeming night in Rancho Mirage, heading to the open air River Mall is an excellent idea for plenty of reasons.
